Pure Carbon Partners (PCP) is a danish climate startup focused exclusively on high-quality carbon dioxide removal (CDR) - essentially solutions that remove and store CO₂ for centuries.

We help companies understand, evaluate, and secure the right CDR solutions by conducting technical pre-assessments, technology evaluations, and project screenings - before large-scale commitments are made.

We do not develop CDR projects ourselves; instead, we act as an independent buyer-sided advisor, helping buyers with investments in carbon Asset and management of same asset.

We are now looking for a Technical Analyst Intern with a strong technical foundation to join us in Aarhus. The role is ideal for students at bachelor or master level in mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, energy technology, process engineering, environmental engineering, maskinmester, or similar technical disciplines.

Key Responsibilities

As an intern at PCP, you will work hands-on with early-stage assessments of CDR technologies and project proposals. Your tasks may include:

  • Conducting technical pre-assessments of carbon removal pathways: biochar, biomass pyrolysis, BECCS-based routes, DAC, and biogenic CO₂ utilisation.
  • Supporting evaluations of OEMs and solution providers, including technology maturity, scalability, and operational constraints.
  • Reviewing project concepts and performing initial feasibility and data-driven screenings (not project development).
  • Collecting and analysing data on energy use, process flow, carbon efficiency, and removal durability.
  • Preparing structured technical notes, due diligence summaries, and presentations.
  • Mapping the Nordic and European CDR landscape and identifying promising technologies.
  • Working closely with the CEO to support client cases, market insights, and partner discussions.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant technical field.
  • Has strong analytical and technical reasoning skills and an interest in carbon removal pathways.
  • Likes working with data, research, and structured evaluation frameworks.
  • Can work independently and take ownership of tasks in a fast-moving environment.
  • Communicates clearly in English, both written and visual.
  • Is motivated by climate solutions, technology development, and impact-driven work.

Experience with pyrolysis, biomass processes, CO₂ handling, LCA elements, process modelling, or data tools (Excel, Python, PowerBI) is beneficial — but not required.

What We Offer

At Pure Carbon Partners, you will get:

  • A unique internship in a fast paced climate-tech startup
  • Direct exposure to real CDR cases, technology assessments, and market insights.
  • Significant responsibility and influence on analytical output.
  • Flexible working hours and the option to work hybrid from Aarhus.
  • Practical learning and insight into new emerging market.
  • Potential for continued collaboration (student position, thesis, or project work) after the internship.

If you want to help shape the future of carbon removal by supporting better technical decisions — and build strong analytical experience along the way — we would love to hear from you.

What we do

Service Cover
Biochar Carbon Removal

Biochar is a proven carbon removal pathway that turns biomass into long term carbon storage. It offers durable removals, clear verification, and meaningful co-benefits, making it a practical and low-risk entry point for corporate climate strategies.

Service Cover
Bio-CCS Carbon Removal

Bio-CCS from biogas captures biogenic CO2 at an existing separation point and stores it permanently. It delivers durable carbon removal with low system complexity, building on infrastructure that already supports energy and waste management.

Service Cover
BECCS Carbon Removal

BECCS combines bioenergy production with permanent carbon storage to deliver large scale, durable carbon removal. It enables companies to address long term residual emissions through integrated energy systems.
